Quonset Style Greenhouse
9/21/13

The Green Apprentice

Thanks for the guidance in assembling the first part of the greenhouse. Ken, Steve and Jane were all business on Saturday morning when we gathered to tackle the somewhat vague plans provided by Growers Solution.

Mr. Kitt's crew have been wonderful! They worked to level the area over the short summer as well as provided equipment to help with the process.

Finally, a special thanks to Isabelle - who saved the day by receiving the greenhouse kit during a hot August, Friday afternoon. If she hadn't stayed extra late, we would not be where we are now.

The students in third and fourth grade have been working with Mrs. Kraus to design possible logos for the greenhouse.

The next step is installing the side wall rail, plastic top and end walls.   More pictures will follow shortly - and a request for some volunteer help with the next stage.

Since the other parts of the greenhouse are taking longer than expected, we decided to get the students out to see the space. It was perfect timing, for we are investigating perimeter and area. It's the first part of the math unit 1.2
